Program following the general meeting: Author, Kristina Alcorn "In His Own Words: Stories from the Extraordinary Life of Robert E. Simon, Jr."  Kristina Alcorn is a nearly life-long resident of Reston having moved here as a child with her family in 1975. She attended Dogwood and Terraset Elementary Schools, opened Langston Hughes Middle School, and graduated from South Lakes High School. Ms. Alcorn earned degrees in English and Spanish from Longwood University and worked in environmental consulting before taking time off to raise her children Ryan and Delia. In April 2016 she published, In His Own Words: Stories from the Extraordinary Life of Robert E. Simon Jr. about Reston's visionary founder.

In her presentation for the Women's Club of Greater Reston, Ms. Alcorn will discuss the inspiration for and process of writing the book. She'll also share stories from Bob's fascinating life and rare photos from Simon's private collection.

Q & A session will follow as will an opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book.
