The Women’s Club of Greater Reston is a women’s social and civic club recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)7 tax-exempt organization. This club was organized back in 1969 as a newcomers’ club with several name changes over the years and we settled on the current name about 10 years ago. We continue to welcome both new and longtime woman residents of Reston (married, single, divorced, widowed, retired, etc.) and surrounding towns to promote friendship through participation in various recreational and civic activities.
We have a variety of activities to offer our members: Book Clubs, Bridge Groups, Mah Jongg, Canasta, Local Travel, Breakfast Group, BUNKO, Art Group. etc. Many activities take place in the home of a member of the group while some other activities take place at a local restaurant. We encourage members to start up new activities that would be of interest to members. If you want to learn more about WCGR please send an email
to: contact@wcgr.org
On the 2nd Wednesday of the month, we host a Get Acquainted Coffee at a member's home. This is great environment for prospective women members to learn more about our club and to meet new and longtime members. If you are interested in attending, please send an email to: contact@wcgr.org Once it is received, we will respond to you as soon as possible.
Our next General Meeting will be on Thursday, November 21 2024, 9:45-Noon. Following this months' general meeting the program will be of interest to our members. Our meetings are held in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery, Reston Community Center, Lake Anne Plaza, Reston VA. We invite prospective women members to attend a general meeting where you will meet new and longtime members and learn more about WCGR. We serve refreshments brought by members before the meeting/program. After the meeting many members will continue socializing by going around the corner to Kalypso's for lunch at their own expense.
Current members receive a monthly newsletter with all the happenings and will provide information on the Program following that months' general meeting.
We have special events throughout the year for our members and their guests. In December we have planned a Holiday Brunch at a member's home
as well as Holiday Afternoon Tea at the Westfields Country Club in Vienna. Members and guests cover their own expenses to attend.
