Welcome to the Women's Club of Greater Reston

The Women’s Club of Greater Reston is a women’s social and civic club recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)7 tax-exempt organization. This club was organized back in 1969 as a newcomers’ club with several name changes over the years and we settled on the current name about 10 years ago. We continue to welcome both new and longtime residents of Reston and surrounding towns to promote friendship through participation in various recreational and civic activities, we have a variety of activities to offer our members: Book Clubs, Bridge Groups, Mah Jongg, Canasta, Local Travel, Breakfast Group, BINGO, etc. Many activities take place in the home of a member of the group while other activities take place at a local restaurant. Our Get Acquainted Coffees are on hiatus during the months of June, July and August. Our next one will be on September 11th at a member's home from 10-Noon. This is great environment for prospective women members to learn more about our club and to meet new and longtime members. Our next General Meeting will be on Thursday, September 19, 9:45-Noon. Following this months' general meeting all our Activity Chairs will be on hand to talk about their activity. Current members are invited to sign up for any activity of their choosing. Our meetings are held in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery, Reston Community Center, Lake Anne Plaza, Reston VA. We invite prospective members to attend a general meeting and the following program where one will meet new and longtime members and will learn more about WCGR. Current members receive a monthly newsletter with all the happenings and will provide information on the Program following that months' general meeting. Partake in a refreshment and meet other women before the meeting and program.

Since our monthly get acquainted coffee and general meetings are on hiatus during the summer, some members continue to meet informally. On the 3rd Thursday of July (18) and August (15) at Noon members will meet Kalypso's at Lake Anne, Reston, VA. Prospective women members are invited. No RSVP is necessary. Separate checks are provided.

We have special events throughout the year for our members and their guests. Our last special event - The Kentucky Derby Party at Kalypso's restaurant at Lake Anne was well attended. And our Spring/Installation Luncheon and the Bungalow Lakehouse and the Fashion Show by Chico's was a huge success.
